You have very clearly expressed the problems of ad hoc policy making at its worst.<br /><br />I wonder why the resources of good governance are not being deployed more effectively in policy and planning? I accept that information on covid changes all the time as we learn more about it; but some essentials remain the same: vaccinations, booster shots,testing, public health measures such as social distancing and mask wearing, so why cannot these measures be be better planned? for example, a triage system of PCR testing,better public information on types of masks (especially given the wildfire spread of omicron)clear guidelines on rapid antigen tests and so on.
