Now you've described the features of creating a micro-climate, I realise that is what I saw in my sister's garden at 'Springmount', out of Armidale, years ago - no doubt installed by previous generations, and enabling her to grow an incredible range of herbs and vegetables. No such luck for me in Canberra in the 1970s, trying to grow tomatoes in another chilly spring - clearly I was lacking the wisdom of those early settlers!Ruth Cottonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08868262087684986677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24338064.post-88651947542415339322018-06-05T10:52:55.136+10:002018-06-05T10:52:55.136+10:00That's interesting, marcellous. They can be designed to accommodate vegetables and fruits, but they also fall in the plant and forget category. The modern, small decorator gardens tend to have limited light, too. About the only exception today in the decline of gardening seems to be herbs.

Jim Belshawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10075614280789984767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24338064.post-78386577227876685502018-06-04T15:06:17.168+10:002018-06-04T15:06:17.168+10:00I didn't grow up with a kitchen garden. I don't recall either of my parents ever showing signs of being tempted to grow their own edible produce, apart from a "mushroom farm" under the house and home-brewed beer. marcelloushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06209648151753428540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24338064.post-28240164191219561772018-06-04T09:20:50.287+10:002018-06-04T09:20:50.287+10:00Did you grow up with a garden, marcellous?
