But for country volunteers the political colour of a premier and the prime ministerial aspirant is irrelevant in any attack on country people.

I think that can be applied more broadly - i.e. 'country' Australians somtimes seem almost 'party-blind' in pursuit of their particular regional interests, and this is sometimes used against them.
